Mary Muchane

As the inaugural Assistant Provost for Faculty Development, Mary Muchane works to advance faculty growth, strengthen research capacity, and expand development opportunities across the academic lifecycle. She previously served as Davidson College’s assistant dean for research development and director of sponsored programs, supporting faculty in building strong funding trajectories. Mary holds a Ph.D. in geological sciences from Duke University and brings a longstanding commitment to fostering collaborative, impactful scholarship.
